Vote for Women's rights that have Breast Cancer
The Issue
My friend is slowly dying of breast cancer because she received a botched up surgery. This all happened back in the year of 2007. The physician left something inside of her that he should not have. The surgeon went back inside of her in the year of 2008 and removed what he had left. He then gave my friend a mammogram, which he should never have done according to another private doctor. After the doctor completed the last surgery in sewing my friend back up they just left pieces of meat hanging. She has tried repeatedly to get social security benefits but has constantly been turned down. She also is being told that she can't receive financial assistance until her cancer reaches a stage four level. As a result of the botched up surgery, my friend can't walk without the use of a cane or a walker. The doctor that she sees sometimes is not very helpful and refuses to sign papers for her to get assistance because she's claiming that the cancer hasn't reached the stage four level. My friend is no longer able to work because of this and needs financial assistance to help pay her rent, food, and other utility bills. We are seeking some type of legal assistance but are being told that my friend should have filed charges when the surgery took place. I don't think this is right or fair because my friend thought that by having the second surgery that everything would be okay. There was no way for her to know. She also has tried to get food stamps but was turned down because the social workers say that she is not eligible. We live in the state of Florida and there is absolutely no reliable help for the poor, sick and needy. This needs to change. My friend wants and needs a second opinion from a private doctor not the incompetent doctors at the local clinic she goes too. We are in contact with John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore to see if they would be willing to do a clinical trial or prescribe a new medication for her. The doctor she sees keeps trying to get her to take more chemo but her body is too weak to stand it. I am asking the general public to sign this petition for my friend and other breast cancer victims to have the rights that they deserve. Thankyou!
