Enrico C. Farruggio has been arrested by the Virginia Beach Police and charged with animal cruelty. Investigators concluded that the 22-year-old man threw a small breed dog off the second floor balcony of an Econo Lodge Hotel. The police found a 3-month-old puppy in critical condition and took the puppy to an emergency veterinary hospital. It was said that Farruggio threw the pup due to an argument he had with his female companion. The female then stated that this was not the first time that Farruggio committed animal cruelty. In March, he threw a five-year-old dog out the car window. The older dog had to be humanly euthanized.

At the moment, the surviving puppy is under the care of a foster parent. The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is looking for donations to cover the expenses of the abused puppy. If interested in making a donation please visit www.beachpetpals.org

This petition respectfully requests that if found guilty, Enrico C. Farruggio receives the maximum sentence allowable under law for animal cruelty.
