Belonging to an elite sports conference promotes the Villanova brand nationally. It provides opportunity for financial incentives such as more lucrative sponsorships and television contracts. This petition calls for the Villanova administration to pursue conference realignment options more actively and more transparently . Some of these options include, but are not limited to:
--Attempting to have Villanova join the Atlantic Coastal Conference for all sports or all sports minus football
--Instead of waiting for realignment, improve the football program's future options by trying to promote it to the D1 level through moving to the Sunbelt or MAC conference

Regardless, something needs to be done to preserve our prized athletic program, and the Nova Nation needs to be informed throughout the decision making process.
