Devastating, permanent injuries may result from a check from behind. The current point of emphasis is not enough to teach young players to avoid making these hits. USA Hockey does not go far enough in protecting kids from the potential of injury from a hit from behind and I believe an automatic major penalty and game suspension would be more effective than the current enforcement.
