There are millioins of animals being abused,tortured,starved,neglected & killed in this country by their owners and other people. Instead of the perpetrators getting a small fine and maybe a light jail sentence,the punishment should be more severe. Animal abuse is becoming just as severe in this country as child abuse and its time for people to pay a higher price for doing it. A high percentage of people that abuse animals,move on to abusing or killing humans. If the penalty for these acts was higher,maybe there would be a lower rate of this crime going on. Animals don't have a voice,they need people to speak up for them and keep them safe. Lets show animal abusers that this is no longer accepted in this country by enforcing stricter penalties for this type of behavior.
