Dear friends, the National Anti-Vivisection Society reports:

"Three new bills have been introduced in Congress, joining an earlier bill, H.R. 6028, in an effort to end federal protection for wolves under the Endangered Species Act. These bills would all prohibit the gray wolf from being treated as an endangered or threatened species under federal law.

S. 3825, the State Wolf Management Act, is trying to remove certain distinct populations of the Rocky Mountain gray wolf from protection under the Endangered Species of 1973 in parts of Washington, Oregon, and Utah, and in the entire states of Idaho and Montana.

S. 3864, the Restoring State Wildlife Management Act of 2010, also proposes removing a portion of the distinct population of the Rocky Mountain gray wolves from the list of threatened or endangered species published under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. This bill only includes wolves residing in Idaho and Montana.

S. 3919, takes a more bold step in its proposal to eradicate the gray wolf by prohibiting the listing of all Gray Wolves as a threatened or endangered species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. This bill does not discriminate on the basis of state boundaries."

Please sign below to register your opposition to these cruel and irresponsible bills. Thank you!

Please Oppose Anti-Wolf Legislation

Honorable Member of Congress,

I write to express my firm opposition to any bill that reduces or removes endangered-species protections for the gray wolf. Specifically, I oppose H.R. 6028, S. 3825, S. 3864, and S. 3919.

The struggles these iconic animals face are human in origin. Man has encroached upon its territory until the wolf has retreated to only the most wild areas of our nation. In addition, the wolf is the only animal that has ever been hunted year-round in every national park in the United States.

Wolves play a critical role in the health of our ecosystems. Obliterating them is not only heartless, it's irresponsible and foolish. Should any anti-wolf legislation come up for approval - specifically H.R. 6028, S. 3825, S. 3864, or S. 3919 - I urge you to vote NO.

Thank you,
