US patent 6630507 was filed February 2, 2001 by Hampson; Aidan J. (Irvine, CA), Axelrod; Julius (Rockville, MD), Grimaldi; Maurizio (Bethesda, MD) and was assigned to the US Department of Health and Human Services.

The patent unequivocally states "Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Non-psychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention."

Aside from the fact that we are draining the world's oil reserves, using petroleum as a base for plastics and fuel is killing our environment. Hemp-oil based plastics are bio-degradable, and bio-fuel similar to corn-based ethanol can be created easier, cleaner and in a steadier - renewable fashion. Hemp can also be used to create paper, which doesn't yellow as it ages, like paper made from wood. As well, deforestation is ripping apart our forests the globe over, yet stronger fibers can be obtained from industrial grade hemp. Compare the time it takes to grow a tree or create fossil fuels, and the time it takes to grow the same amount in weight of useable hemp, and it's absurd we would use trees and oil for the things we need, rather than a plant that is just as strong, and environmentally beneficial.

I've never met anyone that would say Cannabis made them more aggressive, more prone to behaving violently, or mentally unstable.

Yet the government continues to lie.

We all deserve to live in a world free of pollutants and chemicals. We all deserve to live free with the liberty to decide what is best for us and our own.

We can't do that with a government that continues to use false information and fear as a means of controlling our population. Moreover it is unfair for the majority to not have access to a way of life that supports others around them. As opposed to only being focused on monetary benefits like the oil, wood and pharmaceutical industries that pseudo-own our national trade and government regulation. Keeping the profits from destroying our world contained within families who don't (or haven't) made any logical progress towards making our world a better place with their riches on the global scale they are economically able to.

Everyone can benefit from Hemp production, and the use of Cannabis as a means to maintain a healthy life and treat illnesses caused by environmental, emotional, and societal factors.

Money shouldn't matter, but it has since 1937. Lobby groups, businessmen and politicians benefit from things that make our world dirtier and more unsafe.
