To help reduce the national deficit, to finance GOOD universal health care insurance for all Americans, to secure funding for public schools, to support Medicare for our seniors and our disabled as well as underwrite many other government programs, why don’t we simply create a national federal sales tax?

Many nations in the world, including but not limited to Canada, France and the UK, use this as a means to generate revenue for their governments.  This fair and non-discriminatory option needs to be explored in Congress.
