Don't Move The Chicago Pride Parade, No to Homophobia and Racism
The Issue
Dear Alderman Tom Tunney and James Cappleman,
The Chicago Pride Parade has had vice and noise for decades. It still brings in 1 million people and millions more in revenue to local neighborhood businesses. The St. Pat's Parade has brought in more crime and arrests in Wrigleyville, despite the Pride Parade bringing in a larger proportion of people. However, NIMBY residents have put their biases above all reason and wish to cancel the Pride Parade in our neighborhoods. This is a hinderance on small local businesses and really shows a NIMBY attitude towrads marginalized groups that needs to be put to a halt. Please don't move the parade downtown, ignore our history and give in to an attitude that should have been stopped a long time ago. Keep the parade where it is at.
