Protect Due Process: Amend The Enemy Expatriation Act

Protect Due Process: Amend The Enemy Expatriation Act
The Issue
Americans' rights have been under attack. Many of us have been aware of the provisions in the recent NDAA that allow for indefinite detention. My congressmen have assured me that this does not apply to American citizens. The Enemy Expatriation Act, as proposed, would allow for Americans to lose their citizenship without due process. The Enemy Expatriation Act amends the Immigration and Nationalization Act to so that citizenship may be stripped for " engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States.’;"
As worded however, this amendment would allow citizenship to be stripped without due process.
We must demand that congress amend HR 3166 and S1698, to include language protecting our Sixth Amendment right to due process, otherwise we will have no defense against being stripped of citizenship. At which point there is no due process to stop us from being detained indefinitely under the NDAA.
