In order to bring about a peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict, both sides involved must agree to a ceasefire and agree to pursue further negotiations to bring about constructive and successful political reform in Syria. The US and Russian governments must pressure the two parties to go to the negotiating table rather than supplying them with arms and other means of assistance to violently combat each other in an already very costly conflict.
