Stop Torturing Sheep For UGG Boots

Stop Torturing Sheep For UGG Boots
The Issue
Most of the world's wool comes from Australia. The most commonly raised sheep in that country are merinos, which are specifically bred to have wrinkly skin, which means more wool per animal.
The unnatural overload of wool causes many sheep to collapse and even die of heat exhaustion during hot months. In the process to obtain sheepskin, merino sheep are often wounded or hurt. When the sheep gets flies under their folds of skin, the flies lay eggs, and the hatched maggots can eat the sheep alive. Sometimes they are tortured to death if they cause a disturbance in the process of getting their wool, such as mulesing. Mulesing is when breeders force live sheep onto their backs, restrain their legs between metal bars, and carve huge chunks of skin away from the animals' backsides until it dies and sloughs off.
This needs to stop! These sheep should not be used in this area because of the extreme heat conditions. Breeders also need to stop the mulesing done to the sheep. End the cruelty.
