U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Do not kill Barred Owls in the Pacific Northwest
The Issue
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service is planning to shoot and kill 3,603 Barred Owls in the Pacific Northwest in an attempt to help Spotted Owls regain territory. It is unnecessary and inhumane to kill Barred Owls for the sole reason of "making room" for the Spotted Owl. I challenge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to find a different method of preserving Spotted Owls, rather than killing nearly 4,000 Barred Owls.
