Urge Secretary Clinton to support higher education for the Baha'is in Iran

Urge Secretary Clinton to support higher education for the Baha'is in Iran
The Issue
Education is vital to the development and progression of the world. Baha'is in Iran are being continually denied the right to higher education based solely on their religious beliefs and this petition urges Secretary Clinton to condemn such corruptible practices and support Baha'is in their quest for higher education.
Thank you.

Dear Madam Secretary,
We respectfully ask that you publicly condemn the denial of higher education by the Iranian government to the Baha'is in Iran. The Baha'i Faith is a monotheistic world religion which emphasizes the unity of mankind. The Baha'is are a peaceful and non-violent religious minority who have been persecuted since the mid-1880's in Iran due to their religious beliefs. In answer to this persecution, the BIHE (Baha’i Institute for Higher Education) was established by Baha’i teachers and scholars to give Baha’i youth access to higher education. Members of this educational institution are now being arrested and imprisoned with classrooms ransacked and school materials confiscated. Although a fundamental belief of the Baha'i Faith is universal education, the Baha’is are continually denied access to higher education. As U.S. citizens we are free and have the right to education and therefore must lend our voice to our brothers and sisters in Iran whose voices are silenced. Please stand up for the inherent human right to education that the Baha’is in Iran are being refused.
Most sincerely,
A group of concerned citizens from the United States of America
