This petition's goal is for the government to donate the $500,000.00 in seized funds from the August 2013 multi-state, illegal dog-fighting ring to the affected area's humane societies and no-kill animal shelters. This large sum of money would enable humane societies and shelters to give the 370 dogs a chance at a normal, loving life and would alleviate financial stress on the shelters mentioned, which always come with a large influx of dogs and animals, making rehabilitation, fostering and adoption a more viable option.
