Twitter Loud and Long for Single-Payer

The Issue

The rich PR and lobbying machines owned by the health insurance establishment are drowning out the cry for single-payer health care. Their "compromise" of forcing employers to provide health insurance makes them smile all the way to the bank. Who wouldn't want congress to make laws forcing people to buy your products? It isn't the American way.

We need our own drum beat and I'm proposing Twitter and other Social Media as the medium. Maybe a slogan like this would work: Health for All, Before We Fall. The truth is that the unholy alliance between government and the health care industry will bury us. We are already on the razor's edge of being so far in debt as a nation that we can now only survive if others continue to loan us money. We are now a beggar nation. How sad.

Funding single-payer health care couldn't be easier.
First, cut the money pipeline to health insurance companies.
Two, drop malpractice litigation because if everyone is covered, mistakes wouldn't be a court issue they would be medical issues.
Three, establish sane and reasonable costs for medical services.
Four, pay doctors what they are worth, not what they think they are worth. Five, if they can sell pharmaceuticals in other countries for less than here, we consider the difference to be robbery. No more 1,000% markups!
Six, The USA has military bases all over the world, including a dozen or more in Japan. Our soldiers are meant to protect the citizens of the United States, so why are they in Japan? Bring them home. Close those expensive bases and re-deploy the 2.5 million in uniform to protect our shores and borders. The money saved could pay for health care by itself.

Bill RueschPetition StarterI feel that my eyes have finally been opened, and by all people, Michael Moore. The film "Sicko" struck a chord with me because I believed the lie that we in the USA have the best health system in the world. What we have is the most expensive. I have no creditials and I call on the vast majority of us without creditials to stand up and shout, "Health for All--Before We Fall!"
