Keep the Wolf Education Project
Keep the Wolf Education Project
The Issue
The Wolf Education Project is an enrichment program that the camp director of Camp Cedar Glen brought to the campgrounds a few years ago. He works dilligently to educate everyone about wolves and to be a support to them worldwide. He fosters wolves and wolf dogs in secure and very safe habitats and currently does not use any UMC conference money to maintain the project, it is a non-profit organization.
The Wolf Education Project is at risk of being shut down by the trustees, but many of us firmly believe that this is a great enrichment program for the campgrounds and many people have been influenced positively by the WEP.
From their website: "To increase public awareness and understanding as to the true nature of wolves and the critical role they play in maintaining ecological balance in their natural habitat. These educational opportunities are offered on site or off site with a focus on fact vs. fiction and the differences and similarities between wolves, wolfdogs, and your house hold canine companion."
