A bad storm or hurricane comes-and your neighbor's tree falls on your roof, damaging it-which is very common in Florida. Since this is termed "an act of God"-you have to pay for all the damages due your neighbor’s tree.  Is this right? No!  Trees and limbs are flying missiles during  storms and a major cause homeowner’s insurance spiraling costs.

Hurricanes and storms: The majority of damage is done by falling trees and limbs. (Many trees are old, and have root rot, and have overgrowth of limbs.)  To help prevent the rising costs of home owner's insurance and county/city repair expenses (paid for by tax payers)-this law would allow home owners, municipalities, or insurance companies the right to sue the negligent tree owner whose property, i.e., tree,  caused so much damage to others outside of his property-including to power lines. "Acts of God" with fallen trees can be prevented with proper yearly pruning and maintenance which 99.9% of the population fails to do.

People who own trees on their yard should be 100% financially accountable for destruction of other people's property-whether it be to another individual or city/county property. Therefore this is called the Tree Accountability Act.

This includes power lines made payable to the electric company's cost of repair (to help keep electric costs down).

Thank you for your time and reading of this common sense intervention.

Sincerely,
