Trade 360, a Toronto-based company, wants to convert the 600-tank Bick’s Pickle Factory into an organic waste processing and biogas cogeneration facility 500 meters from my family’s home.

They plan to process not only organic waste but animal waste and diapers from Toronto on zoned agricultural land right beside Big Creek, a water supply for the community that feeds into lake Erie.

Orgaworld, a similar plant located in London, Ontario has been producing putrid odours for over 6 years now and has received over 2000 recognized complaints from residents and is currently facing over 27 charges.

We are concerned not only about the odor risks (which have been confirmed) but with water contamination, emergency response (there is only a volunteer fire-fighting force in nearby Delhi), property values, and the fact that Trade 360 has NEVER operated a plant like this before.

Please, help stop beautiful Norfolk county from becoming Southern Ontario’s dumping ground.
