The intersection has been the site of several fatal crashes over the past couple of years. The most recent one being a dear friend of mine Lilia Lee. She was involved in a fatal car accident that led to her death in the early hours of Saturday, October  15th, 2011. In 2009, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced it would be putting an overpass at the intersection, but nothing has been implemented as of yet.
