Time is running out to "Save the Metolius"
Urgent action is needed to help Save the Metolius!
You all know the wonder and magnificence of the beautiful Metolius River and the surrounding forests of the Metolius watershed.
The Metolius River's pristine waters and beautiful old-growth forests face a growing threat from resort developments. Over three thousand houses have been proposed that would irrevocably degrade this spectacular area. And it's not just the development of 3,000 new houses, but also the new roads, traffic, noise, and pollution this development would bring to the unspoiled forests and waters of the Metolius.
Two Metolius protection bills have been introduced in the state legislature to limit development and help protect one of Oregon's natural treasures. Right now, the two bills are languishing in Committee while state politicians are hearing from the land developers and unable to move the protective legislation.
Now is the time for all of us to make a final stand for state legislation to protect this Oregon treasure.
Write a letter to get the politicians "off the dime" and get the protection the Metolius deserves.
Thanks to all of you for taking action to save one of Oregon's natural wonders.
