Have you seen the latest report in the NY Times about the conditions in ipad factories in China? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/26/business/ieconomy-apples-ipad-and-the-human-costs-for-workers-in-china.html?hp

We all love apple products, but recent media coverage has brought to light some questionable practices in the ipad and iphone suppliers factories in China. While apple states that it is auditing and correcting these practices, infrations continue, including safety hazards that have led to deaths and injuries in those factories.

I believe that it is important, especially in the current economy, that we demonstrate that popular products such as iphones and ipads can be manufactured in a way that respects human rights and safety, while still maintaining the competitive edge. End the culture of secrecy at apple! Tell apple that improving workers conditions at their supplier plants will improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and sales. If they mean what they say about improving workers' conditions, then they should be open about having outside agencies review their reports, and the inside of their factories. So tell apple CEO Tim Cook: Prove to us that no more workers will be killed, injured, or exploited in your overseas supplier factories!

Tell apple CEO Tim Cook: ensure your overseas workers' safety and rights!

Greetings,

We all love apple products, but recent media coverage has brought to light some questionable practices in the ipad and iphone suppliers factories in China. While apple states that it is auditing and correcting these practices, infractions continue, including safety hazards that have led to deaths and injuries in those factories.

I believe that it is important, especially in the current economy, that we demonstrate that popular products such as iphones and ipads can be manufactured in a way that respects human rights and safety, while still maintaining the competitive edge.

End the culture of secrecy at apple! Tell apple that improving workers conditions at their supplier plants will improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and sales!

If they mean what they say about improving workers' conditions, then they should be open about having outside agencies review their reports, and the inside of their factories.

So tell apple CEO Tim Cook: Prove to us that no more workers will be killed, injured, or exploited in your overseas supplier factories!

Thank you!
