The first Spanish catalog on invasive species prepared by the Ministry of Environment established the 168 animal species as invasive. The order is to eradicate because they threaten the ecosystem.

The Ministry of Environment prepared a decree authorizing the destruction of all animals that are considered invasive species. Within this range are found from the raccoon to the American mink.


The draft royal decree for the development of the Spanish list of invasive alien species and protection of native species indicates that eradication of "the copies of feral dogs and cats that are released in the wild", ie dogs and cats abandoned by their owners in the field and have learned to survive.


The draft leaves open the door to urgently start to exterminate a species if there is any not covered and allows regions to establish additional catalogs to extend the list of Government.


Please note that for the government, with interest species for hunting and fishing, are not taken into account when included in this catalog. A contradiction but it shows that for the PSOE, the animals are mere resources.
