Many species of whales that pass through our waters are endangered, and whalers in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines indiscriminately hunt all species of whales regardless of their volatility, and then often lie about it at the International Whaling Committee when confronted. Our representatives at the IWC know absolutely nothing about whales, and are only supporting whaling because they have been bought and paid for by the Japanese Whaling Industry. On top of this, whale meat is toxic and the Vincentian Government has never informed the people consuming whale meat of the dangers of doing so. And to make matters worse, Pilot whales and various species of dolphins are slaughtered everyday and sold at our fish market – which was paid for by the Japanese – and sometimes, these animals are brought back alive, baked and blistered from lying in the hot sun all day, before being slaughtered in front of tourists. Regardless of the above, whales are smart and conscious animals and must be protected before there are none left. Please help end this madness and cruelty.
