Family Friendly Jury Duty laws in Washington State accommodate the needs of breastfeeding mothers, at-home parents/guardians of young children, and caregivers of disabled or elderly relatives, and those who depend upon them. It does not give a permanent exemption, just a longer deferment until children are older, or proper, trustworthy care can be lined up. Too many people have been harassed for asking to delay jury duty due to long term but temporary circumstances.
