Recently, Senator David Vitter sent out a letter stating that the Obama administration was trying to circumvent Congress by giving "amnesty" to illegal immigrants who had been brought over illegally as children, but have lived the majority of their lives in the US.

In reality, the DREAM Act allows these kids to earn their stay here by completing school or joining the military. Not amnesty.

Regardless, David Vitter stated in his message that "in the Senate we’ve already rejected some attempts at granting amnesty for illegal aliens by defeating the DREAM Act in last year’s lame duck session." This is a complete lie. The DREAM Act had 55 out of 100 votes and faced filibustering by a minority of Republican Senators. This is the true slap to the face of Democracy, when a small number of people can stop the will of the majority to help people in the United States.

In fact, the Republican minority in Congress has filibustered more bills than any other Congress.

Tell Senator Vitter that he cannot get away with lying to his own constituents and that he should tell the truth and apologize. He does not have to support the DREAM Act, but he cannot lie about it to get his way.
