Stop using Anti-Gay Chick-Fil-A Restaurant as a vendor on campus

Stop using Anti-Gay Chick-Fil-A Restaurant as a vendor on campus

The Issue

The University of Tennessee added a referendum to its non-discrimination policy to include sexual orientation back in 1999 as a result of the strong support from the student body. Yet the fast food chain Chick Fil A has a strong presence on campus and is a vendor for student meal plans. As of 2009 Chick Fil A gave more than 2 million in funds to Anti-GLBT organizations. The University of Tennessee I believe has made a committment of Non-discrimination to not only the diversity and inclusion of all its students but also to GLBT students and faculty. It is important that businesses on campus share that same level of respect and inclusion. Please ask the University of Tennessee to dismiss Chick Fil A as a vendor on campus.
