The Troy Davis Bill HR 92111

The Issue

"Can the most savage South Sea tribe equal in barbarity the infamous lynching record of this republic with tis vast number of churches, colleges, and schools?"---J.A. Rogers: From Man to Superman

I am proposing a petition to be signed and turned into a bill that will permanently abolish the death penalty in the United States; the Troy Davis Bill, HR92111 (the house resolution is numbered after the date of Davis' execution). For obvious reasons, the 34 remaining states that still support the death penalty will now have it wiped out. My reasons for this bill are based on three basic and urgent facts: 1-Too expensive. Killing the most expensive legal-lynching-picnic for the right nationwide would help reduce the deficit significantly. 2-Racial disparity. It's staggering. 3-Deep police corruption. Urban precincts are too tainted to trust and as a result the word of too many cops proves just as untrustworthy as that of the criminal who helped seal Troy Davis' fate. Too many cases of deals in and out of court that have resulted in absurd rulings which saved the actual killer, but condemned a less-educated accomplice. 4-Neither the death penalty or death row have been known to stop murders in the areas where they are approved.
