Police departments around the US have shown increasing use of police brutality against Occupy protesters around the United States - from pepper spray incidents in Portland, Davis and New York, to beating of protesters and inflicting serious injury. It is clear that the police are unable to control their use of force and their actions only put the public in greater danger. We urge the president and members of Congress to unite to protect the rights off all Americans to freedom of speech and assembly. Peaceful protesters are not the enemy. In many cases, they are young students, the unemployed, the homeless, those who have lost their homes due to the irresponsibility of big banks and Wall Street traders. We, the people of the United States call for an immediate end to the use of state terrorism against us.
