The Order Of the Grand Warrior ( O.G.W) OF Kenya is awarded by the president of Kenya "in recognition of outstanding or distinguished services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities".

As one of the Kenyan heroes born out of the Westgate terror attack, , Mr. Abdul Haji embodies the spirit of this prize , and is a deserving candidate for this honour. He was one of the first responders and put his life at risk to save those of many other Kenyans and has left a lasting image on his fellow countrymen of what it means to be Kenyan; showing the strength and beauty in our diversity.
