Why This Is Important

Along Montauk Highway between Higbee and Willets, traffic moves too fast at all hours of the day most importantly when our children need to cross to go to and from the high school. There are no traffic lights or even simple pedestrian cones/signs during morning and afternoon student crossings similar to Babylon Village to alert speeding traffic that there is an active crosswalk for school children. Too many of our kids have been struck and injured in the last 3 years.   We bus the elementary and middle school children, why not the high school kids as well?

Improve the safety of children south of Montauk getting to and from high school

Along Montauk Highway between Higbee and Willets, traffic moves too fast at all hours of the day most importantly when our children need to cross to go to and from the high school.
