Barbara Kay's editorials marginalize and promote hatred against identifiable groups, such as women, Muslims, and the transgender population. Her recent attack on transgender Canadians proposed the idea of psychiatrically treating the gender-variant against their will and forcing transgender individuals into a normative life. This piece, entitled, Sex and the Troubled Mind, is tome which promotes the forced psychiatric treatment of transgender people. It repeatedly invalidates autonomy by using hateful slurs and incorrect pronouns. It portrays transgender people as perverse fetishists incapable of rearing children and prescribes antiquated treatments based on the work of discredited psychiatrist Dr. McHugh. It is a disgusting and unwarranted attack on an entire population based on her view of the life choices of one man.
