It has been widely reported that the The Master's School in Connecticut recently asked a student to leave after finding out she was a lesbian.

No student should ever be kicked out of a school because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The Master's School should immediately pass a non-discrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity, so this never happens again.

Stop kicking out gay and lesbian students!

Greatings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: The Master's School.

----------------
Stop kicking out gay students!

It was widely reported that that The Master's School recently asked a student to leave the school once she came out as a lesbian.

I am writing you to encourage your school to correct this injustice by passing a non-discrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity.

No student should ever be kicked out of a school because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Doing so is not only morally wrong, but it can be dangerous.

Coming out at a young age can be terrifying for some young people. Unfortunately some even choose suicide to avoid judgement from their adult loved ones and mentors.

By kicking out lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students you are sending a strong message that could result in consequences nobody wants. This behavior will be an invitation to bullies that LGBT people are less important than non-lgbt people. No one should be bullied at school.

Some LGBT students face a tough life at home as well. Their parents may beat, emotionally abuse, or even kick out their LGBT child. By kicking out students whom you discover are LGBT you are potentially putting their lives at risk at home. You may even be sending them to the streets.

Instead of endangering students at home and at school, your school should create an atmosphere of trust and respect. Teachers should have resources to provide counseling and support to LGBT students, so they know they are OK for being who they are. You should set an example of mutual respect and understanding, so non-LGBT students grow up to be adults you can be proud of.

The Master's School, should immediately pass a non-discrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity, so no student is kicked out of your school for being LGBT ever again.
