Each year tens of thousands of migrating wild birds fly to and from Africa to mainland Europe, and most of them pass over the Maltese Islands and come down to rest.

For years the government of Malta has allowed the shooting and slaughtering  of these birds under the pretext of "sport".

Malta is now a member of the European community and yet seems to ignore the wishes of organisations within to stop this practice.

Lots of these birds would come to the UK to nest and breed, (swallows, swifts, ring doves etc) -they dont make it, how long will it be before  these wonderful creatures   are not seen on our shores again!
