Give Carol Channing a 2013 Kennedy Center Honor
Give Carol Channing a 2013 Kennedy Center Honor
The Issue
Carol Channing has been entertaining audiences since the 1940s. She had and still has a work ethic of never letting an audience down. She created two of the most iconic roles in the history of show business: Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! She toured extensively around the world making audiences happy wherever she appeared. For eight years, she and her late husband, Harry Kullijian campaigned tirelessly on behalf of Arts in Education. She is truly the last superstar of a bygone era in show business and deserves to be recognized.
