Students should have a say in how their school should be run, right? Since Vassilacou has been in charge, the social atmosphere has deteriorated - she is managing the school in a way that the students are finding hard to appreciate, such as 'banning' cake sales at some point (which were used to raise money for the 'Tiers-Monde' charity).

The only possibility for change is if we speak up and do something about it. Serge has been our Unofficial Photographer when nobody else would - he has done us this tremendous service without being asked to and asks for nothing in return. The photos that Serge takes are what help us remember things we might not otherwise have remembered in detail, to look back on how much fun being in the musical was, how happy you look when you come out of your last exam or even just sitting with your friends, having lunch out in the sun. 'The school is arguing that we can take the photos ourselves' - but who is going to bring their camera out while flour, water guns and shaving cream are around? Who is going to take photos of you while you're on stage with all your friends, or in a student meeting, or performing in your band in front of 700 other students? Serge would stop if we asked him to - but we wouldn't dream of it. The favour he has done us is tremendous and cherished by students - so much so that it has become a school tradition. Serge is the Photographer, end of story.

Think about it - if the school wants us to concentrate more on our studies, then why are they erasing this page? With the Euroschool Bac page around, we never needed to worry about photos being taken for us and memories being kept - now that it'll be deleted, it's all we're going to be thinking about. Everyone will be bringing their cameras to school, snapping photos of themselves when they shouldn't be, thereby distracting themselves from their work.

Looking back on them, I'm sure I don't only speak for myself when I say that the photos Serge has taken of us over our academic lives are some of the most valuable to me in terms of the memories they recall.

Not only has his work as a photographer proven invaluable, but the Euroschoool Bac Facebook Page has also helped us unite our student body by spreading the word about School Events, Important News, answering questions.. How else would you know that there's an important student meeting in B-002 tomorrow, or that school is closed due to the roads being blocked from snow?
