Create long-term solution for public transportation funding

The Issue

Governor Corbett, transit funding is a statewide issue with serious consequences to state tax revenue generation and its economic well-being.  Implementation of the proposed PAT/ACCESS reductions would significantly reduce or even eliminate individuals’ ability to access healthcare services, secure and maintain employment, obtain needed prescriptions and medical supplies, purchase needed items from local retailers, and attend community events. I do not believe that these reductions will provide a long-term solution to the public transportation crisis in Allegheny County. These changes would produce not only a detrimental impact on local economies, but also a systemic negative impact on all of Allegheny County.
