The plan for increased water storage at Chatfield State Park could destroy natural habitats and affect popular recreational facilities. With over 1.5 million visit days annually the park is very popular yet recreational interests are not represented at all on the Chatfield Study and environmental interests are only partially represented. Agricultural and residential users of the increased water dominate the study group and thus it appears heavily biased. The study does not address how environmental and recreational needs will be remediated with the increased flooding.
