This program is important because it will reduce physical and/or mental abuse of the elderly, while ensuring the safety of the entire family. Caretakers may become abusive to their parent due to the enormous stress they find themselves under. This program will provide a framework that will allow caretakers to surrender their elderly parents to local law enforcment, under certain circumstances.
