The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

The Issue

Dear President Barack Obama,

Please ask Congress for an extra $2 billion for The Global Fund. We are appealing to your leadership and compassion on behalf of millions of our most vulnerable United Nations Members.

We believe that raising the United States of America’s donation to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria from $4 billion to $6 billion, over three years, is a fair donation for a wealthy, educated and philanthropic developed nation.

The extra $2 billion being asked for from Congress, over a period of three years, is little different to the United States’ defense budget of $1.9 billion a day.  

We are appealing for the United States of America to lead the international humanitarian way in today's economic environment.

My BA (First Class) and PhD are from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, London) in Social Anthroplogy. I have worked as a senior designer and project coordinator for <a href="http://www.eventcomm.com" rel="nofollow">www.eventcomm.com</a>, prior to setting up Real Stories Gallery Foundation (501c3) wwwmreal-stories-gallery.org. I am concerned about the health and well-being of children whose human rights are violated and live at risk for HIVAIDS and realted and ongoing trauma and violations. Real Stories in collaboration with Art for Humanity and Cinematheque Films are currently setting up Tristan's Moon, an ART Installation in NYC that speaks to the Convention on the Rights of the Child's two otpional protocols, which are two superhigways for the trafficking and transmission of HIV and related human Rights Violations.
