Skateboarding should be supported as a healthy means of transportation, especially on peninsular Charleston. Charleston is a pedestrian city. Its compact size, narrow streets, and limited parking make it a wonderful place to be enjoyed without the use of a motorized vehicle. Limiting pedestrian modes of transportation like skateboards, bicycles, roller skates, scooters, etc. is a mistake. Alternative modes of transportation should be encouraged and rewarded.
