The Austin City Council: Vote No on the sale of the City-owned land next to the ESB-MACC

The Austin City Council: Vote No on the sale of the City-owned land next to the ESB-MACC
The Issue
On September 27th the Austin City Council Voted unanimously to postpone items related to the potential sale of the city-owned 0.2699-acre parcel of land located at the entrance of the ESB-MACC until the Oct. 11th Council meeting. The direction from the Council to staff was to facilitate a special called meeting of the MACC Board and the community to discuss the potential sale of the City owned land. The Council also requested that the proposed purchaser participate in this community meeting. We recently learned that the proposed development near the ESB-MACC could potentially be a 30-story mixed-use project. In addition, the proposed purchaser of the City-owned land is proposing to build a 5-story parking structure near the entrance of the ESB-MACC. The Austin City Council should PROTECT the tax payer's investment in the ESB-MACC and instead deem this city-owned parcel in perpetuity to accommodate phases II & III as outlined in the ESB-MACC Masterplan. Tell the Council to vote NO!
