At present, APA events, services, communications, and resources (including divisional conferences and the APA website) readily available for the use and enjoyment of nondisabled members of the association and of the profession more broadly are not as readily available to a range of disabled people. Such inequitable practices contribute significantly to the hostile environment that disabled philosophers confront in the profession (and academia more broadly) and encourage their departure from it, reproducing the underrepresentation of disabled philosophers in the discipline and the university. The immediate development of a comprehensive accessibility policy and steadfast oversight of its implementation would go some distance to ensure that disabled philosophers are equally recognized and represented in the APA in particular and can participate equally in the profession more generally.
