Tell Obama, Congress, and Others to Enforce the Human Right to Housing

Tell Obama, Congress, and Others to Enforce the Human Right to Housing

The Issue

Though housing was declared to be a human right in 1948 and Washington, DC became a "human rights city" in 2008, the human right to housing has yet to be recognized by the U.S. Government or enforced by DC Government.

In light of the continuing housing crisis, the improperly processed forclosure proceedings of three large banks and the recent recommendation of the U.N. Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing to put a moratorium on foreclosures, it is imperative that the human right to housing be recognized by the governments of our nation.
