The president of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers recently urged his members to start "racially profiling" their passengers and be leery of picking up blacks and Hispanics because they could be "dangerous".

A number of New York's civic and civil rights leaders along with city officials, including David Yassky, NYC's Taxi and Limousine commissioner, condemned the statement. A great move, but more needs to be done.
