Tell the Swedish Migration Board not to Deport Two Children to Macedonia

The Issue

Next week Friday, the Swedish government plans to deport two children who are five and nine years old. Their father is dead, their mother is hiding somewhere in Sweden to avoid deportation, but the government plans to go ahead and deport the children anyway. These children have lived in Sweden since 2006, they speak only Swedish, and doctors say they have both been through traumatic events. They currently live in an orphanage in southern Sweden where their mother visited regularly before she went into hiding (the children were taken into care because their mother was judged to have psychological problems).

At first, the deportation of the mother with her children was stayed because the mother hid, but after a decision in the Swedish Immigration Court upheld the deportation of the two children, they will be sent to Macedonia by themselves in a week. This cannot qualify as humane treatment by any standards of international human rights.

Please tell Dan Eliasson, General Director of the Migration Board in Sweden to stay this deportation. This shouldn't be happening in a country that presents itself as enlightened and forward-thinking. These are children.
