Tell the Austin City Council to Vote No on F1

Tell the Austin City Council to Vote No on F1

The Issue

F1 and their lobbyists are asking the Austin City Council to sign on the dotted line as the endorsing muncipality to host F1.

With less than 72 hours before the Council vote,  F1 and the City have just now posted the economic impact study provided and paid for by F1.

City staff have yet to post the fiscal impact of becoming the official host of the F1 event.

Why should the City of Austin facing a $34 million deficit  collude with the State of Texas during a budget crisis and tough economic times?

Sign the petition and tell the billionaire backers of F1 that they placed a losing bet!  And tell the Austin City Council to Vote No on F1!

Protect the Integrity of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center Protect the Taxpayer's InvestmentPetition StarterOn September 27th the Austin City Council Voted unanimously to postpone items related to the potential sale of the city-owned 0.2699-acre parcel of land located at the entrance of the ESB-MACC until the Oct. 11th Council meeting. The proposed purchaser/developer is proposing to utilize the city-owned land as part of 30-story mixed-use development project in Rainey Street. More specifically, the purchaser is proposing to build a 5-story parking structure on the City-owned land which would violate the integrity of the entrance of the ESB-MACC. We believe the Austin City Council should PROTECT the tax payer's investment in the ESB-MACC and instead deem this city-owned parcel in perpetuity to accommodate future Phases (Phases 2 & 3) as outlined in the ESB-MACC Masterplan. Tell the Council to vote NO! "LA CULTURA NO SE VENDE!"
