Tell the 11th Circuit Court to Reverse the Feeding Ban

Richmond, VA, United States
Created September 13, 2010

The Issue

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, commonly referred to as the 11th Circuit Court, will soon make a critical decision regarding the legality of groups feeding homeless people in public parks.

Four years ago the city of Orlando, Florida passed a ban on groups feeding the homeless in public. Formal and informal organizations that used to routinely pass out food in parks and public areas were forbidden from doing so under the ban. An Orlando group sued the city and won, but the city appealed the decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The ban can't be enforced until the entire 11-member court hears an appeal. Urge the court to REVERSE THE BAN and allow groups to feed the homeless in public. Send snail mail letters to:

James Gerstenlauer
Eleventh Judicial Circuit
56 Forsyth St. N.W.
Atlanta, Ga. 30303
