Tell Strawberry Clothing: Stop Selling Fur

The Issue

The Humane Society of the United States revealed that Strawberry  advertised fur vests as made of faux fur, when the vests were actually made of real fur. Strawberry was also found selling several mislabeled sweaters trimmed with raccoon dog fur.

Consumers should know exactly what they're buying. Animals killed for their fur are raised in horrific conditions on fur farms, or caught in the wild in painful traps. Animals raised in fur farms are often anally electrocuted to preserve the quality of the animal's pelt.

President Obama signed the Truth in Fur Labeling Act on December 18, 2010, which mandates that all fur be properly labeled and advertised, including the species of animal the fur came from. This law goes into effect later this month.

Even if fur garments are properly labeled, animals raised for fur still suffer tremendous cruelty. Strawberry also sells rabbit fur, and although this fur has been properly labeled, it is nonetheless cruel.

Sign the petition to tell Strawberry to stop selling fur.
