On Saturday, March 25th, the Maryland House of Delegates pased House Bill 235 by a vote of 86-52 - over 60% of the House of Delegates supported advancing this legislation. The Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Act (HB 235) will add vital protections needed by the transgender community. It's time our Senators heard from pro-equality supporters like you.

However, a small group of politicians are bottling up this bill and playing games with our lives!  Help us to keep this bill moving in the Senate - contact Sen. Frosh and Sen. Klausmeier now and ask them to to move HB 235 out of the rules committee!

Urge Sen. Frosh and Sen. Klausmeier to move  HB 235 out of the rules committee so it can be voted on by the Senate body THIS LEGISLATIVE SESSION. HB 235 is a critical bill that will add anti-discrimination protections on the basis of gender identity for employment, housing and credit.

House Bill 235 is a critical first step in stopping discrimination against our transgender friends. All people deserve to the right to work and to have a comfortable home. Currently in Maryland 1 in 5 transgender people are fired because of their gender identity.
